Marian Catholic (Tamaqua, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Crestwood Comets (Mountain Top, PA), 59-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Marian Catholic upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The travel to Nativity BVM (Pottsville, PA) to play the Green Wave in a Schuylkill County 3 bout on Friday, December 9. The Green Wave go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Nativity BVM lost 44-22 in their recent non-league bout against Shamokin Area (Coal Township, PA)

Next up, the Comets play the Williamsport Millionaires (Williamsport, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 15. Crestwood will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
