December 7, 2023: Mahanoy City, PA 17948 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA) and the visiting Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders (Coal Township, PA), saw Mahanoy Area's basketball squad wallop Our Lady of Lourdes Regional by a count of 85-32.
With the victory, Mahanoy Area upgrades its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Golden Bears host Weatherly (Weatherly, PA) to play the in a Schuylkill County 3 challenge on Monday, December 11. The come into the challenge with a record of 0-3. Weatherly lost 67-57 in their recent league challenge against Shenandoah Valley (Shenandoah, PA)
Next up, the Red Raiders play the Millville Quakers (Millville, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 9. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
