Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX), 37-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Veterans Memorial upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Chargers travel to King (Corpus Christi, TX) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 6-11. King won 72-39 in their recent non-league bout against Non Varsity Opponent (, )

Next up, the Diamondbacks clash with the San Perlita Trojans (San Perlita, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Pioneer will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 55-44 non-league win over STX (McAllen, TX).
