Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) and the visiting Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), saw Union Academy's basketball team trounce Piedmont by a tally of 62-17.

The Cardinals now possess a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hickory Grove Christian for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 12. Union Academy will confront a Lions team coming off a 36-28 league loss to SouthLake Christian Academy (Huntersville, NC). The Lions record now stands at 4-5.

The Panthers (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Covenant Day (Matthews, NC). The Lions come into the non-league battle with a 0-4 record. In their last battle, Covenant Day was overwhelmed by Cary Academy (Cary, NC), 49-45, in a non-league battle.
