Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots confront the Fairfax Stampede (Laveen, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 13. Independence will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Stampede enter the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Paradise Valley (Phoenix, AZ).
