Maryland High School Basketball - Iona Prep thwarts Our Lady of Good Counsel
December 7, 2024: Olney, MD 20853 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY) and the host Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons (Olney, MD), observed Iona Prep's basketball team knock off Our Lady of Good Counsel by a score of 68-59.
The Gaels (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Jackson-Reed (Washington, DC). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Jackson-Reed prevailed over Glenelg Country (Ellicott City, MD), 70-56, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Falcons encounter the Bishop O'Connell Knights (Arlington, VA) in a VISAA Division I challenge, on Tuesday, December 10. Our Lady of Good Counsel will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 65-31 non-league win over Dunbar (Washington, DC).
