South Carolina High School Basketball - Sumter holds off Marion

December 7, 2024: Marion, SC 29571

The Sumter Gamecocks basketball team scored 64 points and limited the host Marion Swamp Foxes to 62 in the Gamecocks non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Gamecocks now have a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Crestwood for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 10. Sumter will confront a Knights team coming off a 56-46 non-league win over Dillon (Dillon, SC). The Knights record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Marion falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Swamp foxes travel to Oceanside Collegiate Academy (Mt. Pleasant, SC) to confront the Landsharks in a non-league game on Monday, December 9. The Landsharks go into the game with a record of 2-0. Oceanside Collegiate Academy won 50-21 in their recent non-league game against Lucy Beckham (Mt. Pleasant, SC)
