Texas High School Basketball - Weslaco East knocks off Rio Hondo
December 7, 2024: Weslaco, TX 78596 In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Weslaco East Wildcats basketball team scored a good 49-32 win over the Rio Hondo Bobcats.
The Wildcats (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX). The Hawks come into the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, Harlingen South defeated Sharyland (Mission, TX), 61-51, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bobcats battle the Lyford Bulldogs (Lyford, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 32 contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Rio Hondo will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a 7-4 record after their 53-36 non-league loss to Palmview (La Joya, TX).
