December 7, 2024: Pontotoc, MS 38863 South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Amory Panthers (Amory, MS), 52-17 in a non-league match.
With the victory, South Pontotoc upgrades its record to 9-2 on the year. The Cougars travel to Byhalia (Byhalia, MS) to face the Indians in a 4A Region 2 match on Tuesday, December 10. The Indians enter the match with a record of 0-7. Byhalia lost 65-16 in their recent non-league match against Corinth (Corinth, MS)
The Panthers now sport a 2-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hatley for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 10. Amory will face a Tigers squad coming off a 61-58 non-league win over Tremont (Tremont, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 7-4.
