Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC) and the host Riverside-Martin Knights (Williamston, NC), saw Hertford County's basketball squad hold off Riverside-Martin by a tally of 51-48.

With the victory, Hertford County improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Currituck County (Barco, NC) to confront the Knights in a challenge on Tuesday, December 14. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. Currituck County won 72-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Perquimans (Hertford, NC)

Next up, the Knights confront the Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC) in a challenge, on Tuesday, December 14. Riverside-Martin will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Red Barons come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 47-44 non-league win over Manteo (Manteo, NC).
