December 8, 2022: Waco, TX 76710 Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Waco Lions (Waco, TX), 57-54 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Athens upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Hornets travel to Palestine (Palestine, TX) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 8-2. Palestine won 55-43 in their recent non-league bout against Waco (Waco, TX)
