Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ira Bulldogs (Ira, TX), 47-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sands upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Munday (Munday, TX) to play the Moguls in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Moguls come into the bout with a record of 9-3. Munday won 58-56 in their recent non-league bout against Klondike (Lamesa, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Rule Bobcats (Rule, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Ira will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
