December 8, 2023: Shiprock, NM 87420 The Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) basketball knocked off the visiting Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO), 30-19 in Friday's non-league test.
The Chieftains (2-1) will now prepare for their test against Cuba (Cuba, NM). The Rams go into the non-league test with a 3-2 record. In their last test, Cuba notched a victory over Newcomb (Newcomb, NM), 59-39, in a non-league test.
The Panthers now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Newcomb for a non-league test on Saturday, December 9. Montezuma-Cortez will encounter a Skyhawks squad coming off a 59-39 non-league loss to Cuba (Cuba, NM). The Skyhawks record now stands at 1-4.
