The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) and the visiting Edinburg Wildcats (Edinburg, IL), witnessed Athens's basketball squad hold off Edinburg by a count of 40-39.

With the victory, Athens advances its record to 2-2 on the year. The Warriors travel to Greenview (Greenview, IL) to meet the Bulldogs in a Tomahawk battle on Friday, December 12. The Bulldogs enter the battle with a record of 0-3. Greenview lost 41-31 in their recent non-league battle against Mt. Olive (Mt. Olive, IL)
