Oklahoma High School Basketball - Sulphur nips Durant
December 9, 2023: Sulphur, OK 73086 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Sulphur Bulldogs (Sulphur, OK) and the visiting Durant Lions (Durant, OK), saw Sulphur's basketball squad hold off Durant by a count of 54-50.
With the victory, Sulphur upgrades its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Byng (Ada, OK) to play the Pirates in a Lake Country challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 3-1. Byng won 73-59 in their recent non-league challenge against Kiefer (Kiefer, OK)
Next up, the Lions play the Sapulpa Chieftains (Sapulpa, OK) in a 5A District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. Durant will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Chieftains come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 51-48 non-league loss to Bishop Kelley (Tulsa, OK).
