San Marcos Academy Bears (San Marcos, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Vanguard Christian Knights (Boerne, TX), 60-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, San Marcos Academy upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Bears travel to St. Stephen's Episcopal (Austin, TX) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 13-3. St. Stephen's Episcopal won 59-47 in their recent non-league bout against Lago Vista (Lago Vista, TX)

Next up, the Knights play the Big Springs Charter BSCS Hawks (Leakey, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 15. Vanguard Christian will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record.
