The Anton Bulldogs (Anton, TX) basketball thwarted the visiting Friona Chieftans (Friona, TX), 51-40 in Saturday's non-league contest.

The Bulldogs now sport a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Morton for a 1A Region I District 7 contest on Tuesday, December 12. Anton will battle a Indians team coming off a 43-23 non-league loss to Eunice (Eunice, NM). The Indians record now stands at 2-4.

The Chieftans (4-9) will now prepare for their contest against Christ the King Cathedral (Lubbock, TX). The Golden Lions come into the non-league contest with a 7-9 record. In their last contest, Christ the King Cathedral was defeated by Pringle-Morse (Morse, TX), 66-31, in a non-league contest.
