Texas High School Basketball - Martinsville knocked off by Westwood
December 9, 2023: Martinsville, TX 75958 The Westwood Panthers basketball team scored 66 points and held the host Martinsville Pirates to 57 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Panthers now sport a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Teague for a 3A Region III District 20 contest on Tuesday, December 12. Westwood will battle a Lions team coming off a 37-26 non-league win over Mexia (Mexia, TX). The Lions record now stands at 10-5.
The Pirates (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Slocum (Elkhart, TX). The Mustangs enter the 1A Region IV District 27 contest with a 8-7 record. In their last contest, Slocum was defeated by Cushing (Cushing, TX), 44-37, in a non-league contest.
