Oregon High School Basketball - Newport fells Santiam Christian
December 9, 2023: Newport, OR 97365 Newport Cubs (Newport, OR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Santiam Christian Eagles (Corvallis, OR), 43-29 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Newport upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Cubs host Westside Christian (Lake Oswego, OR) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 1-1.
Next up, the Eagles clash with the Marist Spartans (Eugene, OR) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 14. Santiam Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 52-35 non-league win over Gladstone (Gladstone, OR).
