December 9, 2024: Readfield, ME 04355 Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Oak Hill Raiders (Sabattus, ME), 59-55 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Maranacook advances its record to 2-0 on the year. The Black Bears host Mt. Blue (Farmington, ME) to face the Cougars in a non-league match on Friday, December 13. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 2-0. Mt. Blue won 80-67 in their recent league match against Camden Hills (Rockport, ME)
The Raiders now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Leavitt for a B South match on Friday, December 13. Oak Hill will face a Hornets squad coming off a 58-50 non-league loss to Erskine Academy (South China, ME). The Hornets record now stands at 0-2.
