December 9, 2025: Mt. Zion, IL 62549 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) and the visiting Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL), witnessed Mt. Zion's basketball squad run past Richland County by a count of 55-42.
With the victory, Mt. Zion advances its record to 1-4 on the year. The Braves host Effingham (Effingham, IL) to meet the Hearts in a Apollo battle on Friday, December 12. The Hearts enter the battle with a record of 3-3. Effingham won 62-35 in their recent league battle against Charleston (Charleston, IL)
The Tigers now own a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine for a non-league battle on Saturday, December 13.
