Virginia High School Basketball - South Lakes knocks off Yorktown
December 9, 2025: Arlington, VA 22207 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the South Lakes Seahawks (Reston, VA) and the host Yorktown Patriots (Arlington, VA), observed South Lakes's basketball team overcome Yorktown by a score of 48-40.
The Seahawks (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Herndon (Herndon, VA). The Hornets enter the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Herndon lost by Tuscarora (Frederick, MD), 100-19, in a non-league battle.
The Patriots now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wakefield School for a non-league battle on Thursday, December 11. Yorktown will meet a Fighting Owls squad coming off a 68-56 non-league loss to Alexandria City (Alexandria, VA). The Fighting Owls record now stands at 1-1.
