Kansas High School Basketball - Valley Center overwhelms Newton

December 9, 2025: Newton, KS 67114

The Valley Center Hornets basketball team scored 61 points and limited the host Newton Railroaders to 29 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hornets now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Winfield for a non-league game on Thursday, December 11. Valley Center will confront a Vikings team coming off a 52-10 non-league loss to Andale (Andale, KS). The Vikings record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Newton falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Railroaders travel to Eisenhower (Goddard, KS) to confront the Tigers in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail II game on Friday, December 12. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 2-1. Eisenhower won 52-26 in their recent non-league game against Northwest (Wichita, KS)
