Illinois High School Basketball - Unity Christian overwhelmed by Cumberland
February 1, 2024: Toledo, IL 62468 The Cumberland Pirates basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Unity Christian Lions to 18 in the Pirates league victory on Thursday.
With the win, Cumberland upgrades its record to 13-17 on the season. The Pirates host Villa Grove (Villa Grove, IL) to play the Blue Devils in a Lincoln Prairie bout on Monday, February 5. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 1-17. Villa Grove lost 58-14 in their recent league bout against Sullivan (Sullivan, IL)
Next up, the Lions play the Clinton Maroons (Clinton, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. Unity Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 6-20 season record. The Maroons go into the bout with a 15-11 record after their 52-50 league win over Central A & M (Moweaqua, IL).
