South Dakota High School Basketball - St. Mary fells Iroquois/Lake Preston
February 1, 2024: Iroquois, SD St. Mary Cardinals (Dell Rapids, SD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Iroquois/Lake Preston (Iroquois, SD), 58-44 in a non-league bout.
With the win, St. Mary upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Cardinals host Elkton/Lake Benton (Elkton, SD) to clash with the Elks in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Elks go into the bout with a record of 10-4. Elkton/Lake Benton won 45-23 in their recent non-league bout against DeSmet (DeSmet, SD)
Next up, the clash with the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds (Wolsey, SD) in a B Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Iroquois/Lake Preston will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Warbirds go into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 53-39 non-league loss to Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (Forestburg, SD).
