Iowa High School Basketball - Vinton-Shellsburg nips Oelwein
February 1, 2024: Oelwein, IA 50662 Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Oelwein Huskies (Oelwein, IA), 43-37 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Vinton-Shellsburg upgrades its record to 7-12 on the season. The Vikings host Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA) to play the Raiders in a WAMAC - West bout on Friday, February 2. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Williamsburg won 63-44 in their recent non-league bout against Mid-Prairie (Wellman, IA)
Next up, the Huskies play the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels (Reinbeck, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. Oelwein will attempt to upgrade on its 7-13 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 43-31 league loss to Grundy Center (Grundy Center, IA).
