Alaska High School Basketball - Monroe Catholic thwarts Chugiak
February 1, 2025: Fairbanks, AK 99701 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Monroe Catholic Rams (Fairbanks, AK) and the visiting Chugiak Mustangs (Chugiak, AK), observed Monroe Catholic's basketball team knock off Chugiak by a score of 61-49.
The Rams (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against West Valley (Fairbanks, AK). The Wolf Pack come into the 4A Mid Alaska challenge with a 12-5 record. In their last challenge, West Valley prevailed over Palmer (Palmer, AK), 45-44, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds (Anchorage, AK) in a 4A Cook Inlet challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Chugiak will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Thunderbirds come into the challenge with a 12-1 record after their 81-15 league win over Eagle River (Eagle River, AK).
