Ohio High School Basketball - Mt. Vernon fells Watkins Memorial
February 10, 2024: Pataskala, OH 43062 Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets (Mt. Vernon, OH) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Watkins Memorial Warriors (Pataskala, OH), 56-43 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 10-10 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Lexington (Lexington, OH) to clash with the Minutemen in a Ohio Cardinal bout on Friday, February 16. The Minutemen go into the bout with a record of 19-1. Lexington won 69-34 in their recent league bout against West Holmes (Millersburg, OH)
Next up, the Warriors clash with the Granville Blue Aces (Granville, OH) in a Licking County - Buckeye bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Watkins Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 13-7 season record. The Blue Aces go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 65-59 league loss to Licking Valley (Newark, OH).
