February 10, 2025: Matewan, WV 25670 Robert C. Byrd Eagles (Clarksburg, WV) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV), 81-46 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Robert C. Byrd upgrades its record to 11-3 on the year. The Eagles travel to Lincoln (Shinnston, WV) to face the Cougars in a Big Ten match on Thursday, February 13. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 3-11. Lincoln lost 45-43 in their recent non-league match against East Fairmont (Fairmont, WV)
The Miners now sport a 3-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tug Valley for a non-league match on Friday, February 14. Mingo Central will face a Panthers squad coming off a 72-58 non-league win over Hurricane (Hurricane, WV). The Panthers record now stands at 16-2.
