February 11, 2025: Casselberry, FL 32707 The Geneva Knights held off the visiting Master's Academy Patriots soccer team by a tally of 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league game.
Next, the Knights face the Pine Knights (Stuart, FL) in a non-league game, on Friday, February 14. Geneva will attempt to advance on its 12-2 season record. The Knights come into the game with a 13-1 record after their 8-0 non-league win over St. Edward's (Vero Beach, FL).
Match Summary
Master's Academy traveled to Orlando for their Regional quarterfinal match against Geneva. Master's Academy jumped to a quick lead against Geneva with a 4th minute goal by EllaMae Crooks (assist Gracie Crooks). The Patriot's defense held off Geneva's offense until Geneva scored the equalizer in the 48th minute. Master's Academy had an opportunity to take the lead due to an obvious handball in the goalkeeper box, but the referees turned a blind eye. With the score 1-1 at the 80th minute the Patriots took the game to overtime. Geneva scored in the 83rd minute and Patriots couldn't find another goal to continue the match. Congrats to the Lady Patriots for an excellent season.
