New Jersey High School Basketball - University overwhelms Newark Academy
February 12, 2022: Newark, NJ 07108 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the University Phoenix (Newark, NJ) and the visiting Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ), saw University's basketball squad wallop Newark Academy by a tally of 83-51.
With the victory, University improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Nutley (Nutley, NJ) to confront the Maroon Raiders in a Super Essex - Liberty challenge on Thursday, February 17. The Maroon Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. Nutley won 53-11 in their recent non-league challenge against Arts (Newark, NJ)
Next up, the Minutemen confront the Pennington Red Raiders (Pennington, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 15. Newark Academy will attempt to improve on its 14-4 season record. The Red Raiders come into the challenge with a 12-2 record after their 60-31 non-league win over Stuart Country Day (Princeton, NJ).
