Michigan High School Basketball - West Michigan Lutheran overwhelmed by Crossroads Charter Academy
February 13, 2024: Big Rapids, MI 49307 The West Michigan Lutheran Mustangs basketball team (Wyoming, MI), was overwhelmed 40-18 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Crossroads Charter Academy Cougars (Big Rapids, MI)
The Cougars now possess a 1-18 record. They put it on the line next when they host Marion for a West Michigan D battle on Thursday, February 15. Crossroads Charter Academy will confront a Eagles team coming off a 66-22 league win over Mesick (Mesick, MI). The Eagles record now stands at 11-10.
The Mustangs (0-16) will now prepare for their battle against Lighthouse Baptist (Wyoming, MI). The come into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.
Fourth Quarter
Finishing the game strong the Cougars were able to get some key steals and turn them into points that allowed them to pull away. This quarter would be their best of the evening putting in 16 points.
After a lot of hard work the CCA varsity boys team finally found that long awaited for win. Keegan Carnes had an amazing game scoring on 6 3 pointers and bringing in a personal best 20 point game. He added 7 steals and 4 deflections, along with 3 assists and a block. Senior Donny Guernsey completed his regular season playing career at CCA with variable play that contributed to the win. His leadership is going to be hard to replace! Donny finished his night with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 deflections. Alex Erturk and Bentley Freeman both added 4 points with Coulter Kasbohm scoring 2. It was a very good night for the Cougars!
