North Collins Eagles (North Collins, NY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Gowanda Panthers (Gowanda, NY), 61-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, North Collins upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Eagles host Franklinville (Franklinville, NY) to play the Panthers in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - East bout on Wednesday, February 16. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-6. Franklinville lost 43-34 in their recent league bout against Ellicottville (Ellicottville, NY)

Next up, the Panthers play the Silver Creek Black Knights (Silver Creek, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus Central bout, on Wednesday, February 16. Gowanda will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Black Knights go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 74-49 non-league win over Falconer (Falconer, NY).
