Delaware High School Basketball - Newark fells Mount Pleasant
February 14, 2024: Newark, DE 19711 Newark Yellowjackets (Newark, DE) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mount Pleasant Green Knights (Wilmington, DE), 61-42 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Newark upgrades its record to 4-14 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Concord (Wilmington, DE) to play the Raiders in a Blue Hen Flight - B bout on Friday, February 16. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 7-11. Concord lost 68-60 in their recent league bout against Brandywine (Wilmington, DE)
Next up, the Green Knights play the William Penn Colonials (New Castle, DE) in a Blue Hen Flight - A bout, on Saturday, February 17. Mount Pleasant will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Colonials go into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 52-51 league win over St. Georges Tech (Middletown, DE).
