In Friday's non-league contest, the host Northern Highlands Highlanders basketball team scored a good 69-49 win over the St. Mary Gaels.

The Highlanders (16-7) will now prepare for their contest against Paramus (Paramus, NJ). The Spartans come into the Big North - Independence contest with a 5-14 record.

In their next game, the Gaels battle the River Dell Golden Hawks (Oradell, NJ) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, February 15. St. Mary will attempt to better on its 15-6 season record.
