The Sotomayor WILDCATS edged the visiting Vela Sabercats softball squad by a count of 3-2 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the WILDCATS meet the O'Connor Panthers (Helotes, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 29 challenge, on Tuesday, February 18. Sotomayor will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 6-1 non-league win over Lake Ridge (Mansfield, TX).

The Sabercats (1-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX). The Javelinas enter the non-league challenge with a 0-4 record. In their last challenge, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest was nudged by Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX), 10-0, in a league challenge.
