Michigan High School Basketball - Wright nips Watersmeet
February 16, 2023: Ironwood, MI 49938 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Wright Red Devils (Ironwood, MI) and the visiting Watersmeet Nimrods (Watersmeet, MI), saw Wright's basketball squad hold off Watersmeet by a tally of 46-41.
With the victory, Wright improves its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Red Devils travel to Ontonagon (Ontonagon, MI) to play the Gladiators in a Copper Mountain challenge on Tuesday, February 21. The Gladiators come into the challenge with a record of 14-6. Ontonagon won 34-21 in their recent league challenge against Ewen-Trout Creek (Ewen, MI)
Next up, the Nimrods play the Wakefield Cardinals (Wakefield, MI) in a Copper Mountain challenge, on Tuesday, February 21. Watersmeet will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 4-17 record after their 49-37 non-league win over Johnston (Bessemer, MI).
