Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Shepherd Pirates (Shepherd, TX) and the host Mumford Mustangs (Mumford, TX), witnessed Shepherd's softball squad tip Mumford by a count of 6-4.

The Pirates now sport a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Groveton for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 20. Shepherd will meet a Indians squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over Kountze (Kountze, TX). The Indians record now stands at 4-1.
