Texas High School Basketball - Sands nips Fort Elliott
February 17, 2024: Briscoe, TX 79011 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) and the host Fort Elliott Cougars (Briscoe, TX), saw Sands's basketball squad hold off Fort Elliott by a tally of 55-51.
With the victory, Sands improves its record to 22-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Whiteface (Whiteface, TX) to play the Antelopes in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Antelopes come into the challenge with a record of 7-12. Whiteface lost 44-37 in their recent league challenge against Morton (Morton, TX)
Next up, the Cougars play the Valley Patriots (Turkey, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 19. Fort Elliott will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 21-12 record after their 49-40 non-league win over Bovina (Bovina, TX).
