In Saturday's non-league outing, the Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) basketball squad edged the host Highland Fighting Scots (Marengo, OH), by a count of 34-29.

The Comets (15-7) will now prepare for their outing against Bishop Ready (Columbus, OH). The Silver Knights enter the non-league match with a 16-6 record. In their last match, Bishop Ready tipped Whitehall-Yearling (Whitehall, OH), 57-21, in a league match.
