The Lafayette Commodores baseball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting South Pontotoc Cougars to 0 in the Commodores non-league win on Tuesday.

The Commodores now hold a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Water Valley for a non-league test on Friday, February 21. Lafayette will play a Blue Devils team coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Myrtle (Myrtle, MS). The Blue Devils record now stands at 1-3.

With the defeat, South Pontotoc drops to 0-2 on the year. The Cougars host Ripley (Ripley, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league test on Friday, February 21. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 0-1.
