Alabama High School Softball - Central of Clay County nudges Opelika
February 19, 2022: Lineville, AL 36266 Central of Clay County Volunteers (Lineville, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Opelika Bulldogs (Opelika, AL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Volunteers now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Benjamin Russell for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 19. Central of Clay County will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Holtville (Deatsville, AL). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-1.
With the loss, Opelika falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Eufaula (Eufaula, AL) to battle the Tigers in a 6A Area 4 challenge on Tuesday, February 22. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Eufaula lost 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Spanish Fort (Spanish Fort, AL)
