Massachusetts High School Basketball - Amesbury ripped by Concord-Carlisle
February 19, 2023: Concord, MA 01742 In Sunday's non-league match, the host Concord-Carlisle Patriots basketball team scored a decisive 85-51 triumph over the Amesbury Indians.
In their next game, the Patriots meet the Braintree Wamps (Braintree, MA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, February 21. Concord-Carlisle will attempt to better on its 13-6 season record. The Wamps enter the match with a 6-13 record after their 68-61 non-league loss to Concord-Carlisle (Concord, MA).
With the defeat, Amesbury moves to 1-19 on the year.
First Quarter
Tight first quarter, good defense by Amesbury, Nick Marden rebounded and scored well under the basket.
Second Quarter
Concords full court defense and their double teaming started to take a toll, Amesbury lacked the aggressive defense and the game got away….
Third Quarter
More of the same, Concord has a number of solid shooters, Amesbury has had trouble scoring points all season.
Fourth Quarter
Subs for both teams, played about even. A rebuilding year for Amesbury, young talent at the guard position but they need size and weight to go with good skill as freshmen. Amesbury needs to find some solid talent underneath to rebound and score next year….
