February 19, 2024: Russell Springs, KY 42642 The Whitley County Colonels (Williamsburg, KY) basketball nipped the host Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY), 51-47 in Monday's non-league test.
The Colonels (16-11) will now prepare for their test against Jackson County (McKee, KY). The Generals go into the non-league test with a 17-9 record. In their last test, Jackson County got by Harlan County (Harlan, KY), 80-70, in a non-league test.
The Lakers now own a 17-9 record. They play next when they travel to Barren County for a non-league test on Thursday, February 22. Russell County will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 48-42 non-league win over Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY). The Trojans record now stands at 21-7.
