The Chaparral Pumas (Temecula, CA) basketball edged the host Downey Vikings (Downey, CA), 47-40 in Wednesday's non-league bout.

The Pumas now possess a 18-10 record. They play next when they travel to Mark Keppel for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 22. Chaparral will play a Aztecs team coming off a 66-36 non-league win over Oakwood (North Hollywood, CA). The Aztecs record now stands at 22-9.

With the loss, Downey falls to 16-15 on the campaign.
