Colorado High School Basketball - Ellicott thwarts La Junta
February 19, 2025: La Junta, CO 81050 The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Ellicott Thunderhawks (Calhan, CO) and the host La Junta Tigers (La Junta, CO), observed Ellicott's basketball team knock off La Junta by a score of 41-29.
The Thunderhawks (13-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Manitou Springs (Manitou Springs, CO). The Mustangs come into the 4A/3A Tri-Peaks challenge with a 10-9 record. In their last challenge, Manitou Springs prevailed over Buena Vista (Buena Vista, CO), 33-26, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Tigers encounter the Florence Huskies (Florence, CO) in a 4A/3A Tri-Peaks challenge, on Friday, February 21. La Junta will attempt to improve on its 9-10 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 7-13 record after their 64-18 league loss to Salida (Salida, CO).
