Iowa High School Basketball - Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont can't hold off Montezuma
February 2, 2024: Montezuma, IA 50171 The Montezuma Braves basketball team scored 74 points and held the visiting Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets to 71 in the Braves non-league triumph on Friday.
The Braves now sport a 13-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Albia for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 3. Montezuma will battle a Blue Demons team coming off a 60-55 non-league loss to Pleasantville (Pleasantville, IA). The Blue Demons record now stands at 8-8.
The Rockets (13-4) will now prepare for their contest against North Mahaska (New Sharon, IA). The Warhawks enter the non-league contest with a 14-5 record. In their last contest, North Mahaska nudged B-G-M (Brooklyn, IA), 79-53, in a league contest.
