Louisiana High School Basketball - Independence can't hold off Kentwood
February 2, 2024: Kentwood, LA 70444 The Kentwood Kangaroos basketball team scored 59 points and restricted the visiting Independence Tigers to 52 in the Kangaroos non-league victory on Friday.
The Kangaroos now sport a 4-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Edna Karr for a non-league contest on Monday, February 5. Kentwood will battle a Cougars team coming off a 56-45 non-league win over Metairie Park Country Day (Metairie, LA). The Cougars record now stands at 20-8.
The Tigers (4-14) will now prepare for their contest against Springfield (Springfield, LA). The Bulldogs come into the 2A District 7 contest with a 7-18 record. In their last contest, Springfield was nudged by St. Helena College and Career Academy (Greensburg, LA), 54-43, in a league contest.
