Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Washington Rams (Phoenix, AZ), 56-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 11-12 on the season.

Next up, the Rams play the Youngker Roughriders (Buckeye, AZ) in a 5A Central Valley bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Washington will attempt to upgrade on its 7-16 season record. The Roughriders go into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 49-48 league loss to Glendale (Glendale, AZ).
