Illinois High School Basketball - Normal University crushes Lanphier
February 2, 2024: Normal, IL 61761 Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), 74-45 in a league bout.
With the win, Normal University upgrades its record to 18-7 on the season. The Pioneers host Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL) to clash with the Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 22-1. Fieldcrest won 62-37 in their recent league bout against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL)
Next up, the Lions clash with the Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. Lanphier will attempt to upgrade on its 14-13 season record. The Railsplitters go into the bout with a 19-7 record after their 55-31 league win over Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL).
